One Home, Two Stories: How I Photographed the Same Interior for Two Very Different Brands
What happens when two brands commission shoots in the same house — but need completely different stories told through the lens?
That was the case in this Hampstead mansion, where I photographed high-end glass doors for Insteel UK and later returned — by recommendation — to shoot bespoke furniture for Quality Lounge Suites. Same property. Totally different briefs. Two distinct results.
Here’s how I approached both — and why this kind of flexibility matters when you're hiring a photographer for your product or design work.
Photoshoot One: Insteel UK – Let the Architecture Speak
My first photoshoot in this space was for Insteel UK, who installed beautifully engineered glass doors across the home. The challenge with glass is always the same: reflections, transparency, and lighting that doesn’t kill the look with glare or shadows.
There was no scouting session beforehand — just a detailed description from the client and full creative trust in how I approached it. That trust gave me the freedom to build a schedule that worked not just for photography, but also for the video content being created alongside it.
Insteel UK - beautifully engineered glass doors
I coordinated with Bilal Malik, a videographer I commissioned for this shoot, to produce a clean, minimal, cinematic video for the brand's website. He worked primarily on the ground floor where the doors were installed, while I covered additional areas upstairs. Once Bilal wrapped up, I moved in to finish the lower levels.
Before we began, Samy Dee Design — the interior designer — walked us through the space, adjusted the styling, and we even gave the glass a wipe-down to remove any smudges. Her input helped everything look camera-ready.
Despite not being involved in the home’s full design, Insteel and the homeowner wanted a gallery that showed the doors in context. I was asked mid-day to shoot extra areas of the house, so I quickly adapted the timeline and got the shots without missing a beat.
Photoshoot Two: Quality Lounge Suites – Softness, Detail, and Texture
Quality Lounge Suites - bespoke luxury furniture
This second shoot happened after the homeowner recommended me to Quality Lounge Suites, who furnished the home with custom pieces — sofas, dining chairs, a headboard, and a bench.
Unlike the Insteel shoot, this one was all about feel — comfort, craftsmanship, and the way textures play in real-life interiors. Same space, totally different angle.
I intentionally shifted the way I used light, framing, and composition. With furniture, you’re not just documenting structure — you’re creating atmosphere.
Technical-wise, it was a more straightforward session, but still required careful attention to materials and finishes to keep everything clean, clear, and natural.
What Clients Don’t Always See
Behind the scenes, I handled the full schedule, adapted to last-minute changes, and made sure both brands got what they needed — without overstepping or overextending. That meant coordination with the videographer, flexibility for extra shots, and a steady rhythm throughout the day.
I delivered proofing galleries for both clients so they could select the final images for editing. Each shoot ended with assets tailored for websites, social media, and printed marketing.
Results That Last
Both brands saw strong engagement when they began sharing the content. More importantly, we’ve continued working together on future projects — and that referral from one shoot to the next is exactly the kind of trust I aim to build on every job.
This case study shows what I love most: being able to adapt one interior into completely different visual stories, depending on the product and the client’s goals.
See the Work in Action
Here’s a curated selection of final images from both photoshoots.
The first five showcase Insteel UK’s glass doors — clean lines, architectural flow, and precise lighting.
The next five feature Quality Lounge Suites’ custom furniture pieces — rich textures, warm styling, and comfort-focused framing.
Same home. Two distinct visions. One consistent approach to quality and detail.
